Research Interests
- sea level – regional patterns and drivers of sea level variability (across monthly to decadal timescales), links between coastal variability and offshore density/circulation/mass change
- geostrophic turbulence – mesoscale eddy structure and evolution, role of bathymetry in moderating vertical structure
- ocean heat uptake and heat transport
- ocean model development – dependence of the realistic simulation of near coast sea level variability on model horizontal and vertical resolution, implementation of a non-Boussinesq framework
- observational physical oceanography – integration of observations collected by satellites, AUVs, profiling floats, and moorings to facilitate the comprehensive analysis of ocean circulation and steric variability
